GENERAL INFORMATION

Description: This procedure applies the equivalence scales and tables for average grades in foreign studies and qualifications, considering the Resolutions of 21 March and 21 July 2016, and calculates the equivalent average grades on the Spanish university grading scale.

PROCESSING

The procedure comprises the following steps:

  1. The form “Declaration of Equivalence of Average Grades in University Academic Transcripts Obtained at Centres Abroad” must be completed with the information from your academic transcript, and you must select the grading scale applicable to your completed studies. The details of your achieved grades must then be added, on their original scale, along with the grade equivalents on the Spanish scale from 5 to 10. The form automatically calculates the final average grade of your academic transcript.
  2. Once this process is complete, you can print the “Declaration of Equivalence of Average Grades” and submit it to the requesting entity (study admissions, calls for applications, selection exams, etc.) To complete the form, please follow the Instructions for completing the Declaration of Equivalence of Average Grades found in Annex II of the Resolution of 18 September 2017, updating the list of scales (ver en "Información relacionada" el pdf denominado "Anexo II. Instrucciones para la declaración de equivalencias").
  3. Once you have finished completing the Declaration of Equivalence of Average Grades, you can immediately download and print it. The printed “Declaration of Equivalence of Average Grades” document, which will contain an SVC (secure verification code), must be signed in order to be submitted to the requesting entity for the procedure to which you wish to apply (study admissions, call for applications, selection exams, etc.).
  4. The Declaration of Equivalence will be reviewed by the instructing entities for these procedures, who must verify the details provided in the Declaration before it can take effect. It will only be valid if accompanied by the original official academic certificate, or a duly-notarised photocopy, and the corresponding translation (if applicable).
