Recognition of degrees obtained in the European Union for the exercise of regulated professions in application of Directive 2005/36/CE

GENERAL INFORMATION

Description

Through this procedure you can request the professional recognition of titles obtained (or recognized) in the Member States of the European Union, in the States of the European Economic Area or in Switzerland, in order to be able to access and practice any of the professions regulated competence of the Ministry of Universities: Teacher of Early Childhood Education, Teacher of Primary Education, Teacher of Compulsory Secondary Education and Baccalaureate, University Professor, Professor of Artistic Teaching, Professor of Language Teaching, Professor of Sports Teaching and Professor of Vocational Training. 

Recipients

Nationals of a Member State of the European Union, of a State signatory to the agreement on the European Economic Area or Switzerland with an official university degree obtained (or recognized) in one of these countries.

PROCESSING

Presentation of applications

La The processing of this procedure will be carried out by electronic means. Applications will be processed in strict order of receipt date and duplicate applications will be rejected.

Electronic processing of the application

Do not carry out a telematics process if you have previously carried out a face-to-face application process. 

You can access the online processing of the degree Recognition application through the procedures tab of the electronic office of the Ministry of Universities, option ″University degrees″.

To submit the application, press the button "Access the procedure" that appears in the lower right part of the screen and access the processing space. You can identify yourself through the cl@ve system, on the processing page you have all the information on the necessary requirements. You also have the option to identify yourself by username and password. To do this, you must first create the user at the headquarters.

It has several tabs to fill in the requested information. Prepare the documentation that you are going to provide to the application, the telematic procedure will require the necessary documentation for your case. You can save a draft of your application and go completing the documentation prior to its presentation.

Once the application has been submitted by clicking on send, it will also be registered in the general registry of public administrations and the system will generate a receipt for this presentation by registration.

Once the application has been registered, the file consultation service is enabled.

DOCUMENTATION TO SUBMIT

     1. Application

The request must be accompanied by the following documentation:

1. Document proving the identity and nationality of the applicant, issued by the competent authorities of the country of origin or provenance or by the competent Spanish authorities in matters of immigration. In the case of Spanish citizens, the national identity document or authorization to verify the identity data held by the Administration.

2. Academic title(s) and/or professional title(s).

3. Copy of the official academic certification of the studies carried out to obtain the degree or degrees in which they include, among other things, the duration of the studies in academic years and the subjects studied.

4. Official translation into Spanish of the academic and/or professional title(s) and of the official academic certificate.

The above documents are essential to start the procedure.

     2. Specific documentation

In the following cases, in addition to the documentation indicated to start the file, it is necessary to present the following specific documentation:

      • Teaching professions at non-university levels

In the case of Spaniards, certificate of crimes of a sexual nature. In the case of foreigners or with a nationality other than Spanish, they must request a certificate from the authorities of their other country of nationality stating, where appropriate, their criminal record for crimes of a sexual nature.

      • Regulation of the profession

When the State in which the title (or titles) was obtained regulates the profession to which said title gives access, certification issued by the corresponding competent authority that certifies compliance with the requirements for the exercise of the regulated profession in question in that country, for the purposes of exercising it in another State of the European Union, the European Economic Area or in Switzerland, in accordance with the provisions of Directive 2005/36/EC.

If applicable, official translation of the certificate in accordance with Directive 2005/36/EC.

When the State in which the title (or titles) has been obtained DOES NOT regulate said profession, a certificate that certifies the professional exercise of full right in that State or in another of the countries in which this directive is applied, except Spain, for one year, or part-time for an equivalent total period, over the course of the last ten years.

If applicable, official translation of the certificate that certifies professional practice.

FINAL RESOLUTION

The resolutions of recognition of degrees will be formalized by means of a credential issued by the General Sub-directorate of Degrees and Organization, Monitoring and Management of University Education of the Ministry of Universities.
