Accessibility Information Relating to the Website

The Ministry of Universities, in its commitment to promoting integration of individuals with disabilities, including people with physical or cognitive impairments, and regardless of the technological devices used to access information, has worked following the Accessibility Guidelines defined by the permanent working group Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI), part of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), to comply with level AA, including for the WCAG 2.1 guidelines.

The website has been designed using XHTML (eXtensible Hypertext Markup Language) and style sheets, complying as far as possible with W3C’s XHTML 1.0 and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) validations. The main measures implemented to guarantee accessibility include the following:

  • Font Size The fonts used are relative in dimensions, allowing users to control their size from their chosen browser.
  • Design, Browsing and Interactivity Consistent browsing across the entire website has been strived for, following the same structural plans on all pages.
  • Keyboard Shortcuts A series of keyboard shortcuts have been established for accessing the navigation menu options and the links located in page footers. These shortcuts vary according to the browser used: With Internet Explorer 5 and higher, you should press alt, the shortcut key and then the intro
  • With Mozilla and Netscape, you should press alt and the corresponding shortcut key.
  • With Firefox for PC, you should press alt, plus the caps lock key and the shortcut key.
  • With Ópera for PC, you should press caps lock, plus the escape key and the shortcut key.
